I’m Nishita Sanghvi, an aerospace engineer from India, with a dual Master’s in Aerospace Engineering at the Technical University of Munich and Systems Engineering at ISAE-SUPAERO.
My journey in the space sector has grown through a mix of academic curiosity, technical work, research, and community involvement. Over the years, I have had the opportunity to learn through experiences at organizations such as ISRO and Rocket Factory Augsburg, along with projects, conferences, and collaborations that have gradually shaped both my technical interests and my sense of direction.
What draws me most to this field is that space brings together complexity, purpose, and possibility in a very unique way. I am especially interested in space systems, sustainability, and work that asks thoughtful questions about how things are designed, how they perform, and what kind of future they help build. For me, engineering is not only about solving problems, but also about understanding the larger context in which those solutions matter.
Alongside my academic work, I have been fortunate to gain exposure to both institutional and industry environments. At ISRO, I had the chance to contribute to technical work in a space agency setting, which gave me early insight into the discipline and responsibility that space engineering demands. More recently, at Rocket Factory Augsburg, I worked as a Predevelopment Engineer for Future Space Technologies, where I contributed to activities related to ESA calls and tenders and gained valuable experience at the intersection of engineering, feasibility, and strategic thinking.
A meaningful part of my journey has also come through the global space community. Through my involvement with the Space Generation Advisory Council, I have worked with people from different countries and backgrounds who share a common belief in the value of space and the importance of making the sector more collaborative, inclusive, and forward-looking.
Beyond technical work, I care deeply about outreach and access to space. I have always believed that space should feel open not only to those already inside the field, but also to those still trying to imagine their place within it. Teaching, mentoring, and engaging with students have therefore been an important part of my journey as well.
Outside of work and academics, I enjoy painting and reading, both of which help me stay grounded and creative. This website brings together the different parts of my journey so far, the work I have done, the experiences that have shaped me, and the direction I am continuing to grow toward.
